New Beers, New Relationships
Variety is the spice of life, right? Well that’s our attitude, and we don’t plan on letting up as we have a number of exciting beers on the horizon as we enter the second half of our first 12 months in business of our brewery
It’s been almost six months since we opened our brewery and taproom, and since then we’ve released eight beers. The first two were our flagship beers: Day Tripper Pale Ale and Midnight Ryder American Black Ale. We have two seasonal beers: Shenanigans Summer Ale and Stir Crazy Winter Ale. And four specialty beers: Fresh Hop, Sweet Yamma Jamma, Haywire, and Old Friend. We are now preparing to release our ninth beer: Hot Box, an Imperial Smoked Pepper Porter brewed as a collaboration with Northbound Smokehouse Brewpub in South Minneapolis. This beer will be released on Feb. 11 at Northbound and then on Feb. 14 in our taproom (yes, there will be limited 750 mL bottles, limit two),
Not long after we turned on the power in our building for construction, the crew from Dogwood Coffee stopped-by to investigate their new neighbors in Northeast Minneapolis. With mutual love for coffee and beer, an alliance was born and talks of collaboration soon followed. The result is Burr Grinder, a beer that is not so much a coffee beer, but a coffee nerd beer for beer nerds. This beer will be released in early March.
I-P-What?! You didn’t hear it from us but, but yes, we will be brewing a seasonal IPA that will be released in late March. More details about this unique beer to follow in time.
Beyond these beers we are working on brewing our first barrel-aged beer for release at our second annual Hullabaloo in October. There will be a super, funky specialty beer for release around Art-A-Whirl, and we are preparing for a big summer filled with canning—when we debut our third canned beer with return of Shenanigans Summer Ale, our honey wheat ale brewed with Sorachi Ace hops and Glacier County (MT) honey. This beer will be available in 12-packs so you can be the hit of any get-together carrying a bounty of cans!

Indeed Brewing Company Flagship Beer Now Available in Cans
MINNEAPOLIS, MN, OCTOBER 11, 2012 — Indeed Brewing Company announces the start of their in-house canning operations.
The brewery, which opened its taproom and began wholesale keg distribution in August, will increase production to include packaging 12-oz. aluminum cans.
The company will offer six-packs of their two flagship beers, Midnight Ryder American Black Ale and Day Tripper Pale Ale. The cans, which feature illustrations by local artist Chuck U, will debut in select liquor stores beginning Thursday, October 11 with plans to increase distribution metro-wide as the company grows.
“We’re really anxious to be able to get our beer out there in cans. Canning was such a big part of our start-up plan from the beginning, and the opportunity to share our beer with more people is really exciting,” says co-owner Tom Whisenand.
Statewide, Indeed is the only local craft brewery to offer their beer in 12-oz. aluminum cans. “We wanted to package in 12-oz cans for many reasons, one of which is that they fit in really well with the types of things we like to do. It’s great to be able to throw some cans in a backpack and go for a hike or a bike ride, something that is really hard to do with bottles,” says co-owner Nathan Berndt.
The trend in canning craft beer continues to grow as more consumers become aware of the advantages of cans.
“Cans are just better containers for beer,” says Berndt. “They are completely light resistant, which make them the ideal package for our hand-crafted beer.”

Exit summer, enter fall, and new beer offerings
If you've visited us in our taproom you may have noticed the Indeed crew's lack tans as we have spent virtually the entire summer inside of the brewery usually arriving before the sun had risen and departing long after it had set.
While this summer has mostly passed us by we are excited to embrace the changing seasons and brew unique, single batch beers to celebrate them.
First up, in celebration of the harvest we will release our Fresh Hop ale in our taproom on Thursday, September 20. Brewed with 150 pounds wet Centennial hops harvested just the day before in Washington's Yakima Valley, this sessionable pale ale was brewed with 100% Irish Stout Malt.
Coming in October will be our Sweet Potato Ale brewed in the unique American craft beer tradition of Pumpkin Beers. Look for this beer on a nitrogen pour in our taproom and on draft at local bars and restaurants. In addition we will release very limited and experimental double black ale, Haywire, that we brewed using insane amounts of hops.
Finally when mercury really starts to drop we will release our winter seasonal, Stir Crazy, a winter warmer brewed with brown sugar and raisins.
And if you are absolutely unwilling to let the summer go, we will release one fruit-infused Shenanigan's Summer Ale per taproom day. Each keg has been infused with one of the following fruits: peaches, sweet cherry, blackberry and blueberry.
