The Low Down

October 11
The Low Down

one day of beer, food, & music in walker’s point

Come get down at The Low Down!

We’re shutting down our little stretch of South 2nd Street for a block party to close out Oktoberfest.  Come enjoy some great beer, live music, unique vendors, delicious local food offerings, and community as the seasons change.
We’ll have Beer Brûlée 12-5pm! And a Tie Dye station 12-4pm!
Let’s take advantage of the final few moments of outdoor-beer-drinkin’ season together.
More info coming soon… Save the date!

LIVE MUSIC!

After a live DJ sets the tone from 2pm-4pm, local duo Shush Money kicks off the band lineup, followed by the beautifully crafted songwriting of the Chris Haise Band. Next is the up-tempo surf/garage rock fireworks of Cozy Danger, leading into the night’s headliner: Nashville-based alt-pop trio VEAUX.

Beer Brûlée 12-5pm

Experience the magic that takes place when your favorite malty beer meets the business end of a fire poker. The result? A rich, caramelized twist on your pint that’s delicious, warming, and perfect for crisp autumn weather.
Like magic, but really it’s science. The flavor change that occurs in a Beer Brûlée is thanks to the Maillard reaction – think of that distinctive taste that comes from browning a food, like a roasted marshmallow or seared steak. The compounds formed during this chemical reaction are what make bread crust taste toasty and coffee dark and roasty.

UPTOP

The Low Down will be the second-to-last open day for UpTop (our pop-up seasonal rooftop) — so get those brews and views up there while ya can!

UpTop closes for the season Sunday, October 12th
