Indeed We Can – National DIY Skatepark
Join us for the April edition of our Indeed We Can charitable initiative as we highlight National DIY Skate Park
Every Tuesday in April, Indeed will donate 100% of the day’s taproom proceeds to National DIY. This includes all sales of tap beer, to-go beer, growlers, crowlers, THC products, merch, and snacks!
National DIY is a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the creation and preservation of community skateparks in Milwaukee, WI.
The National DIY Skatepark started out as an illegal project in the midst of COVID-19. Now, it’s a nonprofit with city backing..After beginning in an old Park n Ride in the Walkers Point neighborhood, they soon experienced overwhelming support from neighbors and skaters. The lot, known for illegal activity, was a sore spot for much of the surrounding community, who rallied around the building of the DIY because it drove these activites out of the space. After several years of steady growth and support from the community, they were tasked with organizing as a Non Profit, so they could legitimately run the space with the partnership of the City, County, and State governments.
Their mission is to encourage youth recreation, promote safe skating spaces, and build a stronger community through skateboarding.
National DIY stands as an example of what can be achieved when diverse and dedicated communities create things together. It’s positive impact is proof of what can be achieved when communities embrace the culture of skateboarding.
Come by the taproom every Tuesday in April and raise a glass to lend a hand to National DIY
